Air, is a celebration of the imperfect – that charming element that distinguishes the handcrafted from the factory-made.
Inspired by blown bubbles, which have a natural tendency to stick to each other, the newest glass pendant lamp from FRANDSEN, Air, has a distinctively charming, organic shape all its own. The shade comprises two blown glass bubbles of irregular thickness stacked seemingly at random.
The pendant, with its unique shape, appears almost to hang askew, paying tribute to both the harmony and the incongruity that characterise artisan crafts. However, Air is the product of such vast experience and meticulousness that the lamp hangs perfectly straight – despite its somewhat haphazard and ‘skewed’ appearance.
The opal-white glass combined with the asymmetric lines produce a soft, well-rounded light that fills the entire room, rather than just illuminating a single surface. With a light output spanning 360°, the Air pendant lamp has the added effect of making a room seem bigger.
Air is available in three sizes, 22 cm, 28 cm and 34 cm, making it ideal for many different functions. For example, several pendants of different sizes can be hung in a decorative cluster, or the largest size can be used on its own as a statement piece.
